Report on the MAJOSZ Automotive Industry Conference
The Association of Hungarian Automotive Suppliers (Majosz) organised one of the most important vehicle industry events of the year on October 6th on the ZalaZone test track site, where the hosts and tier 1-3 suppliers discussed current issues and trends in the industry. The hybrid conference was attended by a public of nearly 200 people on the spot and many others followed from afar from behind remote monitors.

The aim of Majosz is to ensure that the growth of the domestic automotive industry remains sustainable for future generations, so the association attacks current and forward-looking topical issues with the help of experts, government officials and business leaders, primarily to develop the SME sector. In view of the new market challenges, Majosz pays special attention to innovation, digitization, and other areas that create added value (e.g. manufacturing, sales, marketing, branding).
Stratis participated at this conference, held for the fifth occasion, for the first time. We had interesting and useful discussions about the digitisation of companies and the tools available to companies to overcome challenges and increase their efficiency.
The fifth, jubilee conference was opened by József Nyirő, who welcomed Ádám Nagy, Deputy State Secretary (Ministry of Technology and Industry - MoTI), László Vígh, Ministerial Commissioner, and Zoltán Balaicz, Mayor of the City of Zalaegerszeg, in addition to the 200 guests present. The participants were welcomed by a video message by MoTI Minister László Palkovics, who confirmed that the Hungarian government's goal is not only to produce parts and cars in Hungary, but also to assign a key role to research and development. More than 10,000 automotive engineers indicate that we are on the right track, with more than 800 companies prominently operating in the automotive sector, which accounts for 13-15% of Hungary's GDP.
The minister added that innovation in the Hungarian automotive industry is a priority area for the government. Innovation spending in 2021 exceeded HUF 900 billion and the number of people actively involved in innovation doubled compared to 2010.
