Guided by Quality and Reliability – Since 1998
When we founded Stratis, we were guided by a simple principle: to do work we could be proud of in the long run. Quality and reliability have been at the core of every decision ever since. This set of values has made us one of the key players in management and IT consulting in Hungary, especially in the field of data. Our clients look for more than just professional expertise: they seek trust, transparency, and genuine collaboration. They know that with us, there’s always room for that “extra mile,” because we believe the best results are born not where the minimum is delivered, but where we aim for the maximum. We enjoy finding solutions to complex problems, digging deep into sophisticated systems, and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives. Because that’s what drives us and our clients forward.

My grandpa Bíró used to say...
ZOLTÁN BÍRÓ
Managing Partner, CEO

What does nearly 30 years mean in the history of a company? Where did you start in 1998 and where are you now?
We began as a close-knit family, founded by seven of us and today we work with a team of nearly 100 people. We absorbed our initial knowledge at Pannon GSM.
I remember that one of our co-founders used to drive a Trabant back then and we didn't receive any salary for the first 3-4 months, and today we have a net turnover of ~ HUF 3.4 bn. When the whole idea of setting up the company was conceived, we met and brainstormed a lot until every detail of our strategy fell into place. I remember the numerous attempts just to decide on the company name! But we were bold and dived in, thinking, "What do we have to lose?". My final push came from my grandfather Bíró, who always said: „My son, it's not what you've attempted that you should regret, but what you've left untried.” So, I took the plunge into founding the company. We had a solid business plan, but it was our naivety and the youthful belief of "why can't we do this?", that propelled us forward.
In the 2000s, the saying "Why shouldn't tigers know how to do this?" became a catchphrase within our company. In the beginning, we had no references, no general access to online materials and trainings as we have today, from which we could absorb the knowledge. We simply believed in ourselves that we could put everything together from our grey matter and do it all. That's the secret of the company's success to this day, and it is what keeps us going. Our ethos has always been learning, a thirst for knowledge, curiosity, recklessness. And we really had the courage to learn and to immediately absorb all the consultancy approaches in order to serve our clients to the highest possible standards.
Fun and joviality is a constant feature of our team, which is a tremendous value - "Work hard, party hard!" attitude has been burned into the company's DNA ever since and we live our everyday lives with this in mind. It allows us to handle even the most difficult situations well.
We try to keep the family atmosphere and company culture that has become our trademark over the years, but maintaining it is a huge challenge as the company grows dynamically, with its increasing size, staff and diversity. And a company of 100 people requires a much higher level of organisation.
But what we have maintained throughout our nearly three decades is that we have built and developed the company very consciously, following a multi-year business strategy.
-
Over the years, have you been able to maintain your original vision or have you changed your ownership philosophy along the way?
We’re an independent company. What we’ve built, we’ve built ourselves. We don’t have outside investors shaping our direction or priorities, which means we can grow at our own pace, stay true to our values, and offer stability. We work for ourselves, each other and for the success of our clients. We also share the responsibility for everything together.
At the same time, we've never taken a short-term view in this company. It was never about scaling up and selling out. For us, it’s about creating something we can live with and live in, and being an active part of it for the long run. That's exactly why we continuously strive to make this a livable, cheerful, and enjoyable place to work. And naturally, that also means we don't lead from behind a desk. All our owners come to work every day.

How has Stratis’ service portfolio evolved over the years? What new areas have you expanded into?
Stratis was originally founded following the model of Anglo-Saxon consulting firms: as a technology-independent partner focused entirely on delivering real value and practical business advice, always with the client’s best interests in mind.
In 2008, we began looking for new directions to grow, and we decided to complement our management consulting services with data solution implementation. This led to the creation of our Analytics division, which has since grown into a 31-person team working on BI strategy, data science, executive dashboards, and reporting. Over time, our data-driven implementation services have also expanded to include AI-powered solutions.
Today, our clients receive business and IT consulting as well as data-driven implementation — all from a single, trusted partner.
-
What makes Stratis' services unique? What distinguishes you in the market?
If I had to express in one sentence what we offer our clients, it would be this: peace of mind. Our partners know they can rely on us with their most complex challenges and high-stakes projects, because they trust we won’t stop until we’ve made them a success. Going the extra mile isn’t just a slogan for us; it’s how we work, day in and day out.
What also sets us apart in the Hungarian market is how we combine strategy, management and IT consulting, and data-driven solutions into a single, integrated offering. We’re not only there to define the right direction, we stay with our clients all the way to implementation, ensuring ideas are grounded, feasible, and deliver real business outcomes.
This approach guarantees that the solutions we propose aren’t just theoretical; they’re actionable. And because our implementation teams also understand the strategic context, they make decisions that align with the bigger picture, whether we’re supporting a single project or long-term digital transformation.
These are the two things that make Stratis different: dependable delivery and integrated expertise. Together, they enable us to create greater business value for our clients, while keeping risks low.
-
To what extent does Stratis represent reliability and quality to customers, and how have you built this reputation?
We’re proud to have earned the trust of some of the most influential players in the Hungarian market. Our aim is always long-term partnership: supporting our clients across as many areas as possible: from targeted, data-driven transformations to large-scale, end-to-end digital transformation projects.
This commitment to quality and impact has translated into consistent, dynamic growth of over 20% annually for the past five years. When we take something on, we deliver it to a high standard. Our clients know this, and that’s why they continue to turn to us with new challenges.
-
What role does customer feedback and satisfaction play in the operation and development of the company?
Customer feedback and satisfaction are central to how we operate—and how we grow. They don’t just validate our work; they actively shape how we improve, evolve, and refine our services.
That’s why we’re especially proud that our clients have rated our joint work with an NPS of 85. To put this in perspective: even globally, the most trusted banks and insurance companies average around 65. This result reflects the strength of our partnerships and the consistent value we aim to deliver.
We deeply appreciate the trust behind this score and we see it as a commitment to live up to. Maintaining or even raising this standard of satisfaction remains one of our key priorities moving forward.
-
Where will Stratis position itself in the next few years? In what direction do you plan to steer the company?
Digital transformation is no longer just a buzzword. Over the past 8-10 years, it has gained real substance as companies have begun making meaningful investments, restructuring their operations or building entirely new processes through digital technologies. The most successful transformations are always grounded in real, specific business problems. That’s why use-case thinking is key.
With nearly 30 years of experience and more than 2,800 projects behind us, we have developed a strong set of proven use-cases that enable us to deliver solutions to a wide range of business challenges. This is why I believe that in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, banking and insurance, healthcare, and public administration, we are well-positioned to achieve long-term success with our consulting services, as well as our data-driven and AI-based solutions.
One standout example is A.N.I.T.A., our proprietary AI assistant. It enhances the efficiency and intelligence of processes such as customer service, procurement, pricing, cash collection and more broadly, information retrieval from corporate knowledge bases. The combination of well-interpreted data relationships and AI opens up tremendous new opportunities for our clients.
